A recent Clark County School District (CCSD) graduate has achieved what many theatre students aspire toward: winning a National High School Musical Award, also known as a Jimmy Award.
Chris Hayes, a 2025 graduate of the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts, brought home the Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actor this week.
Hayes traveled to New York City to participate in the national competition against more than 100 high school students who were selected to participate. The competition entailed rigorous coaching sessions, training and rehearsals with some of Broadway’s greatest stars.
It all culminated in a one-night-only talent showcase at Broadway’s Minskoff Theatre, where Hayes brought home top prize along with a $25,000 scholarship.
Congratulations to Chris on this remarkable achievement!
