Six Clark County School District (CCSD) schools are recognized this year for excelling in STEM education with designations made by the Governor’s Office of Science, Innovation and Technology (OSIT). As of 2025, 33 CCSD schools now carry this distinction.

“Congratulations to these six schools for joining the list of CCSD schools to earn this remarkable recognition,” said CCSD Interim Superintendent Dr. Brenda Larsen-Mitchell. “This truly reflects the importance the District continues to place on strong, top-tier science, technology, engineering, and mathematics curriculum for our students.”

Overall, more than 45 Nevada schools have been chosen for their exemplary performance by meeting the highest standards of STEM instruction and acting as models for schools across the state. CCSD schools represent over two-thirds of the schools that have earned the Governor’s STEM School Designation selected statewide.

The following CCSD schools are now recognized in 2025 as Governor Designated STEM schools:

  • Arbor View High School

  • Durango High School

  • Elton M. and Madelaine Garrett Junior High School

  • Frank F. Garside Junior High School

  • Judy and John L. Goolsby Elementary School

  • Carroll M. Johnston STEM Academy of Environmental Studies

In addition to the newly designated schools, the following CCSD schools earned a higher rating:

  • Roger D. Gehring Academy of Science and Technology

  • Justice Myron E. Leavitt Middle School

  • Northwest Career and Technical Academy

  • Mike O’Callaghan Middle School i3 Learn Academy

The below CCSD schools currently hold the distinction:

  • Sandra B. Abston Elementary School

  • Advanced Technologies Academy

  • Walter Bracken STEAM Academy

  • The STEM and Medical Academy at Jim Bridger Middle School

  • Berkeley L. Bunker Elementary School

  • Roberta C. Cartwright Elementary School

  • Ed W. Clark High School

  • D.L. “Dusty” Dickens Elementary School

  • Doris French Elementary School

  • Theron H. and Naomi D. Goynes Elementary STEM Academy

  • Kenny C. Guinn Middle School, STEM Academy

  • Lomie G. Heard Elementary School

  • Mabel Hoggard Math & Science Magnet School

  • Hyde Park Middle School, The Academy of Science and Mathematics

  • Frank Lamping Elementary School

  • Lied STEM Academy

  • Gordon McCaw STEAM Academy

  • Joseph Neal STEAM Academy

  • Rancho High School

  • Southeast Career and Technical Academy

  • Southwest Career and Technical Academy

  • J. Marlan Walker International School
