The Clark County School District (CCSD) proudly celebrates the Duane D. Keller Middle School student council. The group earned the 2024 National Gold Council of Excellence from the National Association of Student Councils (NASC).
The student council was selected for its dedication to promoting positivity, inclusivity, and community service during the 2023-24 school year. This school year, the student council has made it a priority to help staff keep the campus clean and rehabilitate the school’s tortoise habitat.
The student council also organized positive activities on campus, including “Pops with Cops,” where students played games and ate popsicles with police officers from the Clark County School District Police Department. This event even garnered news coverage from a local news outlet.
“We are immensely proud of our students for their dedication and effort in making Keller Middle School a better and more positive place to learn in the past year,” said Duane D. Keller Middle School Principal Brittney Nuanez. “Their contributions have been invaluable, and we are grateful for their service.”
To earn the National Gold Council of Excellence Award, a student council must meet criteria including successful sponsorship and participation in activities such as leadership development and service to the community.
