Clark County School District (CCSD) students across southern Nevada experienced the unique opportunity to see a solar eclipse on Monday, April 8.
Students at Walter Bracken STEAM Academy practiced safety as they wore specialized viewing glasses to observe the solar eclipse.
The school used the event as a learning opportunity for the students to study what science is involved in what they saw in the sky.
According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), a total solar eclipse happens when the moon passes between the sun and Earth while completely blocking the sun.
