The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees added four new members during a special board meeting on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. During the ceremony, each newly appointed Trustee took the oath of office.
As outlined in the Nevada Legislature’s Assembly Bill 175, the four appointed Trustees will serve four-year terms as non-voting members representing the local municipalities that appointed them.
Trustee Ramona Esparza-Stoffregan represents the City of Henderson, Trustee Adam Johnson represents the City of Las Vegas, Trustee Lisa Satory represents Clark County and Trustee Dane Watson represents the City of North Las Vegas.
“The CCSD Board is excited to welcome the non-voting Trustees. The role of Trustee requires a serious commitment to student outcomes through board governance,” stated Board President Evelyn Garcia Morales. “Non-voting members have received extensive training prior to their oaths of office and gained knowledge about the Board’s expectations. We will continue training the non-voting members to ensure their success in reaching the Board’s goals.”
“We welcome these new Trustees as they join us in our focus on student success,” said CCSD Superintendent Dr. Jesus F. Jara. “Prioritizing student success to provide them with the best choices, opportunities, and support leads to a successful academic future and career beyond their years with CCSD. With the perspectives and voices of these new Trustees, our focus remains and will be enhanced through their knowledge and experience.”
