In observance of National School Counseling Week February 3-7, 2020, guidance and counseling professionals were recognized throughout the Clark County School District (CCSD).
Priest Elementary Celebrates RAMP Designation
School counselors at Richard C. Priest Elementary School were recognized for their hard work in helping students achieve school success and plan for college and career readiness.
Priest Elementary School is celebrating being designated by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) as a Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) School this year. Only 39 schools in 15 states received the distinction this year – and Priest Elementary School is the only Nevada school.
The RAMP designation, awarded for aligning with the criteria in the ASCA National Model, recognizes schools committed to delivering a comprehensive, data-informed school counseling program and an exemplary educational environment.
Three CCSD Counselors Honored by College Board
The College Board Counselor Recognition Program honored three CCSD high school counselors for their commitment to student success. Out of only 500 counselors recognized nationally, four recipients are in Nevada. The 2020 CCSD recipients are:
- Bonnie Lykins, Centennial High School
- Vicki Simmons, Centennial High School
- Christy Zamora, Global Community High School
