Nearly 40 teams of Nevada middle school students, including many from CCSD, will compete in the regional finals of DiscoverE’s Future City Competition on Saturday, Jan. 19, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Northwest Career & Technical Academy. The competition is part of a non-profit educational program that asks middle school students to imagine, design and build cities of the future. This year’s theme is “Powering Our Future.” The first-place team will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C., in February, to compete in the Future City Competition National Finals.
