LVHS Star Graduate

19 May Star Graduate: Emmanuel Berrelleza of Las Vegas High School

Once again this year, CCSD is honoring “Star Graduates” who stand out for academic excellence or for overcoming the odds.

Emmanuel Berrelleza of Las Vegas High School is the second youngest of seven children in his family. His parents came to the United States in hopes of providing opportunities for their children. Emmanuel was acutely aware of the financial hardships his family faced. Watching his parents work hard and provide for the family motivated him to create a non-profit organization called Face It, which addresses poverty in communities and provides support for struggling families. He has excelled in school as he founded the Model United Nation’s Club, served as the National Honor Society president, served as the Math Club vice-president and participated in Student Council for three years. He played on the LVHS varsity tennis team and was a member of the wrestling team. Emmanuel is a deeply motivated student who will be attending Dartmouth College in the fall. He is a remarkable example of a student who values his roots and appreciates the opportunities he has been given. “The work I put in,” he stated, “is only a fraction of the sacrifices my parents make every day to give me and my siblings a better future.” Congratulations to Star Graduate Emmanuel Berrelleza of Las Vegas High School!
