16 Jun K.O. Knudson Middle School receives national arts integration award
K.O. Knudson Academy of Creative Arts and Technology has received the Arts Integration Award from the Arts Schools Network for its outstanding leadership in bringing arts integration strategies into the curriculum. According to the Arts Schools Network, “Knudson was the first middle school in the Clark County School District (CCSD) to found its magnet programs on the creative and performing arts. Situated in a low-socioeconomic area, Knudson adopted the ‘school-within-a-school’ magnet model in 1997 to promote equity and diversity. While the arts served as the premise for the school’s magnet programs, arts integration has served as the school’s foundation for academic success for all students, both the magnet and neighborhood populations.” For more information, click here or call Principal Lezlie Koepp at (702) 799-7470.
