Green Our Planet’s Giant Student Farmers Market set for Wednesday, Oct. 23

Clark County School District (CCSD) is partnering with Green our Planet and Clark County Commission Chairwoman Marilyn Kirkpatrick to host the event on Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Clark County Government Center Amphitheater (500 S. Grand Central Pkwy. Las Vegas, 89155).

Billed as the largest student market in the U.S., the free event will feature approximately 600 students in Southern Nevada. Students run the market themselves, selling fruits and vegetables that are grown in school gardens and handmade crafts. The market is held every fall and spring.

“The Farmers Market allows students to learn about nutrition, finances and business skills in preparation for the real world,” said CCSD Community Engagement Executive Director Joe Caruso.
