06 Jul Class of 2017 produces stellar graduates and many inspirational stories

The Clark County School District (CCSD) proudly celebrates the many accomplishments of the Class of 2017, which consisted of approximately 19,000 graduates. The successful class graduated with:

• 204 valedictorians
• 48 salutatorians
• 1,706 Advanced Diplomas
• 2,891 Advanced Honors Diplomas
• 414 Advanced Placement (AP) Scholars, granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams
• 170 AP Scholars with Honors, granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams
• 138 AP Scholars with Distinction, granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams
• 6 National AP Scholars, granted to students who receive an average score of at least 4 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams
• More than $227 million in merit scholarships, up from $196 million in 2016 (Millennium Scholarship data to be available in late July)
• 115 service academy appointments

The above numbers are preliminary. Final graduation numbers and rates must be verified by the Nevada Department of Education before they are official. This verification is typically done in the fall. For more information, click here.
