18 Apr Basic Academy named an IB World School Career-Related Programme
Basic Academy of International Studies has become the first Clark County School District (CCSD) school, and the second Nevada school, to be named an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) Career-related Programme (IBCP). According to IB Chief Schools Officer Andrew Macdonald, the designation means Basic Academy is now “part of a global community of schools committed to developing knowledgeable, caring young people who will be ready to negotiate their futures successfully and make contributions resulting in a more harmonious and peaceful world.” Basic Academy IB Career Program Coordinator/Coach Terry Ertman said, “It is our mission to challenge each student to reach their intellectual and creative potential. The IBCP provides access to students who may not fit the typical IB profile. This unique program offers students the ability to put themselves ahead of the pack in an extremely competitive career and college environment. The IBCP student will truly be career and college ready.” For more information, click here or call Terry Ertman at (702) 799-8000.
